Special shout out to these 4x1 girls.

Meredith Wood, Reagan Trautman, Harper Lee, and Kenzlee Roder

At the beginning of the season, these girls had one goal in mind… Beat the Slater JH Girls 4x1 record. The record was broken last year with a time of 58.10 but these girls knew they could break it easily.

At our first track meet in Westran, the girls were ready to race. When the starting gun fired, the girls were off fast and ready to smash the record but something had happened… The baton was dropped during a hand off but they weren't out of the race. They finished in 6th place with a time of 59.72. The girls weren’t upset, they weren’t mad at each other, it only made them more determined to break the record. Next practice, they practiced their handoffs non-stop and were ready for the next track meet.

Marshall track meet: The girls line up again and the race is off. The hand offs are clean and they are neck and neck with their opponents. They finished in 2nd place with a time of… 56.35!!!

They broke the record but they weren’t done yet.

Sweet Springs: The girls were confident and ready to race again. They finished 1st with a time of 56.48.

Salisbury: Aryannah Kruger stepped up to run in this race when one of the girls couldn’t make it to the meet. After the race, the girls broke the record a 2nd time this year with a time of 55.82.

CAC: Our Conference track meet is here and the girls knew it's their last time running together. With their last race in the bag, they finished with a time of… 54.75! They broke the record three times this year and continued to pass their limits. CONGRATS!!!

Our students have worked hard to grow The Scoop into something our school and community can be proud of, and we cannot wait to see what this new year brings.

Now, it’s time to introduce your newest Wildcat Sideline Scoop staff…

Life is a crazy concoction of successes & slip ups, of trying your best and trying to figure out what you really want. No one is doing it perfectly, and that's perfectly ok.
